Ian Taylor FIEx - Chair
Ian Taylor is CFO of Quortus Limited, a software company supplying advanced technology to mobile telecoms operators and governments worldwide. Over 90% is exported, building on the strategic importance of a global customer base. Ian has the goal of encouraging all companies to become export focussed in a structured manner and especially for start-ups and smaller companies to embrace a global focus as part of their DNA.
Also chairman of three property companies acquiring, developing and commercialising accommodation for students and young professionals in city centre locations.
Passionate for creatively growing businesses through international trade and enabling organisations achieve their potential. Married & lives in Ascot.
Craig Pattinson MIEx - Vice Chair
Craig leads HSBC's Corporate Banking team for the City of London.
Craig has worked for HSBC in numerous markets including Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the US.
Throughout his career Craig has worked with clients to provide Trade Finance solutions and help structure supply chains. It is in this regard that Craig is committed to help the Institute in its work to grow UK exports. Craig is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and holds a Masters in Finance from London Business School.
Robert Keller - Hon. Treasurer
Rob’s career in banking and finance has spanned over thirty-five years in diverse positions with four of the largest global financial institutions and a Fortune 50 multinational corporation. In recent years, he as held senior positions in trade finance product management and sales as well as in relationship management with RBS and its legacy bank ABN AMRO in the UK, the Netherlands and Italy. During his banking career he also held a wide variety of roles in the UK, and the US with American Express Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank where he was credit trained. He has demonstrated ability in risk management and development of business strategy, products and propositions. Rob is also an articulate presenter and internal/external thought leader. His professional interests include education and professional development in the field of Trade and Export Finance.
Nicola Bolton MIEx
David Earp DipM MCIM MIEx (CPD)
Prior to joining UK Trade & Investment 19 years ago, David ran his own business delivering strategic business and international marketing consultancy to large corporations. As a senior executive within a diverse range of global industrial and consumer businesses, David’s business background covers alcoholic beverages, design engineering, reprographics, communications technology, industrial electronics, film and paper surface coating and chemicals.
During his time with UKTI, David is accredited with developing UK Trade & Investment’s Passport to Export scheme for the East of England, which has been adopted nationally and for the original Gateway to Global Growth programme model. David is now the country champion for India to where he has lead a number of trade missions.
David is a Chartered Marketer and Trustee Director of the Institute of Export, a Diploma in Management, and Masters in International Marketing. He studied Inter-Cultural Management at Cambridge University and, since 1995, lectured at Cambridge Marketing College. He speaks French, German and Italian.

Alexander Gullis MBE, MIEx (Grad)
Sandy Gullis MBE is the Distribution Manager for Essentra Components Ltd and is responsible for the distribution of goods on a Global basis with an emphasises on the European market. Sandy spent 25 years in the Army as a logistician working in many countries dealing with the import and export of military equipment. Since leaving the military Sandy has been involved in Food Distribution, Motor Manufacturing, Commercial Support to Military Operations, Third Party Logistics and his current role. Sandy has a personal commitment in assisting organisations of not only improving their export growth but ensuring it is done in a compliant and structured manner.
Jenny Hooper MIEx
Jenny Hooper is Managing Director and Co-Founder of Independent Freight Solutions Ltd, an international supplier of Freight Services.
Our core services are Air, Sea and Road, customs issues, special Documentation and advice and consultancy.
Jenny received the 2015 Every Women in Transport and Logistics Leader of Year Award for her commitment to the strategic direction of her freight business
Jenny has grown her own business over the last 12 years and employees 10 staff. Jenny has over 20 years’ experience in logistics and 12 years’ experience of running a successful business.
We always try to understand our customers need in order to make them remarkably different, so they in turn continue to meet and exceed their own customers’ expectations
As a small business ourselves Jenny and her team understand the issues SME’s face in running a business and hitting their international business goals
Jenny is committed to helping the UK achieve its exporting targets and encourage and inspire all businesses to grow and continue their International ambitions whether import or export.

David Maisey MIEx
Dave Maisey is the CEO and Co-Founder of ICC Solutions Limited, a global leader in the provision of innovative test tools for Chip & PIN. Dave has been heavily involved in international trade for 20 years and his company exports to 63 countries. Recently, ICC Solutions received the high accolade of being awarded their second Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. This is the company’s third Queen’s Award overall having also won one in the Innovation category. This reflects Dave’s commitment in delivering excellence to the company’s international client base and implementing efficient and comprehensive export practises. Dave also has a firm objective to help enhance British exporting and to inspire others to investigate the growth opportunities offered by international trade. Working closely with the Institute of Export, Dave is looking forward to engaging in new export related initiatives.
T Glyndwr Powell, BA FCICM FIEx
Glyn has been involved in sales financing and international trade for over 40 years, working for companies such as Xerox, Diageo, Phillips and GATX. He is currently Head of Risk at Merchants Transaction Finance. Glyn has established local and cross border leasing companies in Europe, Africa and the Middle East, stock finance facilities in Africa and western Europe, and recently acted as Head of Risk and Operations Director at Trade Finance Partners. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management and of the Institute of Export, where he is a Trustee Director and previously Honorary Treasurer. He was also a Trustee of the Institute of Credit Management and is a member of its Technical Committee, handling risk and international trade issues. He has extensive experience in credit management and risk mitigation, and has contributed to a number of books on the subject.

Sue Wright FIEx (Grad)
Sue Wright began her shipping career in 1989 in an engineering company in Nottingham, shipping industrial weighing machines and parts worldwide. Such was her passion for the industry and subject that she went on to study through the Institute of Export qualifications and in 2000 qualified at Diploma level. With this achievement she was offered a position as Shipping Manager in an engineering and manufacturing company who exported entire projects worldwide. This included cross trade and imports. Armed with a wealth of experience and knowledge, in 2010 she set up her own business offering training courses and managing shipping departments for small businesses.
In 2015 she was awarded a Fellowship of the IOE for her outstanding contribution to the organisation.
